Blue Sun Orchid – Finished

I had some good suggestions regarding the background and got hold of some photos of what the foliage around the orchid was like, but decided to just stay with some light and shade. I’m happy with it, and so is my instructor.

Working on this has been a really good experience. I really enjoyed working on something larger.

Now I just have to decide what to do next.

Update 1 Jun 08: Dianna P at Wet Canvas made a suggestion for a title for this painting and I really liked it. So I am going to call it “Catching the Morning Light”.

  1. Just incredible. You have great command of your medium, it’s clear.
