A place to share my creative pursuits

I have moved on from landscapes to a still life finally. I don’t really enjoy the watercolour landscapes, but then I also don’t focus on those when I’m using pastels either.

My tutor set up a still life with Bird of Paradise flowers and leaves. I chose to draw on flower with a leaf.

I was much happier painting this – I think it must be something to do with the detail. The landscapes were too impressionistic for me I think. This was much more interesting. It is not quite finished, but I am definitely more happy with the result so far than with my last painting, which I didn’t even post here.
