Drawing – Oil Pastel Still Life inspired by Margaret Preston (Australian Artist) – WIP#2

I was up early this morning so got to work on the still life. I have been thinking about how to start this for a couple of days now. This morning, I forgot about thinking about it, and just got started.

It is an interesting process, trying to complete a work in the style of another artist. This is not the way I would normally work. I’m not really into all these patterns, but it is a part of the project so they need to be included. But as you can see it is still very early days yet on this one.

And as we are just working in earth tones it is a bit challenging when the items we are working from aren’t all earthtones. But it is underway, and still looks like a vase with flowers which is the important thing. 🙂
