Painting – Last Project – Experimental work

The inspirations for our last project include Picasso and Mondrian, and late Cezanne.

We have completed the sketches of the still life that we started last week.

Each sketch was from a slightly different angle or location in the room. Once these were complete it was time to start ripping.

Using the second sketch as the base, we ripped pieces from the other sketches and stuck them on the base sketch – the only rule was that the piece had to go on in the same location that it was torn from.

I ended up with this…

We will work from this sketch to create and painting that is, well, unusual is a nice word for it… lol

Our teacher sketched a rough idea of the kind of sketching we will do onto canvas to get the painting started…

So it is going to be interesting to see how this turns out next week.
