Daily sketch: Crepe Myrtle

We have a really lovely crepe myrtle tree in our front yard. The flowers are just starting to appear. I think it is a little late this year – maybe because of all the rain. My daughter picked a branch off the tree yesterday, so I sketched that this morning whilst she played with some friends.

  1. Lovely sketch!

I adore the bark on Crepe Myrtles – paintings in themselves.

I have Kenwood Mixer envy now….

    • It was quite a challenge doing the crepe myrtle flowers – so many variations in colour to translate into graphite. I’m looking forward to the whole tree covered in flower – photos and paintings ahead I’m sure 🙂
