Ceramics: Pinch pots for Raku firing

I spent the morning at the pottery huts, the first ceramics I’ve done this year. I didn’t realise how much I missed getting my hands in the mud!

We will have a raku firing in March so I want to get a few pieces completed ready for that. I really enjoyed the process of making the raku pieces at college and wanted to see if I was able to remember how to build pinch pots.

I had a lot of fun making these pieces. I wanted to make another round paperweight with white crackle glaze, so I can check that off the list, and I’m going to make some more fruit to go with these two. Once they are leather hard I will burnish them – and then I’ll get to decide on glazes. Can’t wait!
