Mississhippi's Madness

A place to share my creative pursuits

Drawing: Queen of Sheba (Oil Pastels) Finished

This has been a really good experiment. I hadn’t worked with the oil pastels in quite this way before. I like the texture that has appeared in the background, and for a naturally vibrant flower, the oil pastel colours were ideally suited. I also like working with the oil pastels on the sanded paper, I think that is what helped with the background texture.

I need a better range of purples to really get this close to the colours of the flowers, but I’m pretty happy with the end result.

First finished work for 2012 – yay! Took me long enough 🙂

  1. Those purple hues just POP! Beautiful work. You look like you’re really enjoying your watercolour adventures as well.
