Soft Pastels: Fading Beauty (WIP#1)

Finally I am getting my act into gear! The whole of the first school term of the year has passed and I have very little completed art to show for it. So today I headed back to the local art and craft society and made use of their studio space to get back to work with soft pastels. I haven’t picked them up to work with them seriously for over 18 months! I can’t believe it has been that long.

A3 size, on Canson Mi-Tex sanded paper (grey), using Rembrandt and Art Spectrum soft pastels (1.5 hours work)

I am so happy with the way this is working out. I have some detail work to complete – just finishing touches really – and a few more lights to go on to lift the flower out  even more.

It was so much fun to get my hands dirty again!
