Orson Scott Card discusses art

A friend of mine brought this article to my attention. Orson Scott Card is a well known science fiction writer and he has written a very well thought out and interesting article about art and how he feels about it – go here if you’d like to read it.

I haven’t had a chance to go and have a look at the art he likes – he included a lot of links – but will browse through them. It is always interesting to see what kind of art a person is drawn to as we each have our own personal taste. When I was at TAFE it was always fun to wander around the art gallery and see the different paintings each student was drawn to. Someone always saw something different to love about each painting – or to hate or dislike, or feel utter indifference.

Things have been quiet here on the blog as I go through an inspirational dry patch – maybe by looking at art I’ll find my inspiration again.

  1. Elaine, Thank you for sharing the link. It’s a very interesting article. In art, in history, etc. who dictates what’s good? There is always the other side of the coin…
