Soft Pastels: Kookaburra – still in progress

My daughter is still unwell, so whilst she was playing on the computer for a while I decided to get the kooka out again. I could see that something was not quite right particularly with the background so made use of the short time I had to make some changes. Will I ever be happy with it?

Kookoburra_5_webI’ve lost some of the fine details around the edge of the kookaburra in changing the background which I will finish when I have better light. The trees and shrubs around him are still not right – too uniform I think, so will look at them again.

He doesn’t look so overpowered by the greenery now, which I think is better.

  1. I agree with you, the back ground suits him better now…I love how he seems so full of life!
