Soft Pastels: Pug – work in progress

Pug_3_webHe’s starting to look like a puppy dog now. Still a lot of work to do on the snout and some softening of the dark areas of fur, but he’s well on the way!

  1. Again, to me the eyes are just stunning…I really enjoy this image and look forward to seeing it finished. 🙂

    • Thanks Anna. I like to see how the drawing changes each time I work on it, but, yeah, the eyes have to be just right to be able to continue or else it just won’t work.

      • It is interesting that you start with the eyes and move on from there… And you get them so absolutely right, to my mind, anyway. I’m not a painter so I don’t know much about the techniques but I love what you do with the pastels
